December 2008 Family Update

It's been a full year since our last update, so here's a lot of information. John needs to edit this site more often!

Audrey is now eight and in third grade.  She continues soccer and gymnastics.  We all decided it was time for a break from violin and to try piano.  She enjoys it and is doing well.  Needless to say, she is a very busy young lady, although she did give up Brownies when we discovered her only interest was selling the cookies! Her biggest achievement of 2008 was First Communion.  Oh and she got her ears pierced too!

Now for our most energetic family member, 3-year-old Anthony.  He is doing great in his first year of preschool. Stacy attends the school every Thursday.  She enjoys watching him participate in the activities and make his little buddies.  During this past year, as an attempt at capitalizing on his unending energy, with the added hope to wear him out, we enrolled him in gymnastics. Unfortunately, he quickly tired of following directions and refused to stay in class. Well, more park time it is.

Stacy remains household planner/chauffeur. If not chasing Anthony, working at his preschool, or helping Audrey with homework, she's enjoying the gym. Her book club gives her a good excuse to indulge in her passion, even if that means reading the Twilight Saga - again!

John finally justified the purchase of his fancy drum kit by joining a rock band. He also took his long-awaited sabbatical this summer. He filled his nine weeks of pseudo-retirement with a lot of fun, a lot of gym time, and a little bit of housework. Best of all, he returned to work 30 pounds lighter!

During the summer we visited San Diego and Lake Tahoe. We ended the year with what has somehow become an annual trip to Disneyland. Audrey enjoyed the roller coasters and the popcorn. Anthony was terrified of everything fast or dark, but loved the cotton candy.

We are currently enjoying the holiday season and look forward to creating more memories in the new year.
